An
artefact, discovered in 2004 near Roswell, not only shows a the design
of a British crop circle from 1996 in a relief, but also peculiar
magnetic properties that raised many questions regarding its origin and
meaning. Now an artist has shown how such stones can be created with
handcraft methods.

Artist
Ron Branch works in Portland, Oregon, an has worked with stones and
glass already before he heard about the so called "Roswell Stone".
Because he was used to sandblasting he immediately recognised how he
cold replicate the alleged mysterious stone artefact with his method -
and so he did with respectable success, also showing other crop circle
related motives.

Furthermore
Branch was able to recreate the original stone's peculiar magnetic
properties. According to him this is just a question of the selected
type of base material: "There
has to
be a correct ratio between the weight of the rock and the pull of the
magnet. Clockwise and counter clockwise rotation is all about shape -
the ones that are too symmetrical have no interest in spinning, they
are better off somewhat lopsided." A similar theory for
the
magnetic rotation was offered by Dr. James Constantopoulos of "Eastern
New Mexico University" when he re-investigated the original "Roswell
Stone" in 2008 together with its owner Robert Ridge and investigative
journalist Linda Moulton Howe (...read

In
an e-mail-interview with crop circle researcher Andreas Müller about
the "Roswell Stone", Ron Branch assured that even if he did create
similar works before using his sandblasting method with stone and
glass, he only started to create crop circle decorated stones after
he learned about the story of the "Roswell Stone", so the original stone
discovered in 2004 is not
one of his artwork.
Now
a comparative analysis between the original "Roswell Stone" and
deco-stone created with the method Ron Branch uses may be an
appropriate approach in leaning more about the "Roswell Stone's" origin.
