Human, not E.T., takes credit for sand circles
The sand circles discovered in the Rio Grande in the Upper Valley are not the work of aliens after all but of a local artist named Michael Alford.

Alford said he spent a month and a half digging up the concentric circles with the help of students from the El Paso Country Day School. "Art is a mystery, but this mystery is not alien made," Alford said.

The set of unexplained circles were found this week in the middle of a dry Rio Grande. The largest circle contains three other circles, each made by 8-inch deep trenches on a sand berm between Artcraft and Borderland roads in the Upper Valley.

> Meanwhile other local news-media reported that other locals saw indeed people making the circles. So likely a documentary of how the circle were made will surface soon?

On March 1, 2007, the „El Paso Times“ newspaper reported about „mysterious circles“ found in the river bed of Rio Grande at West El Paso, Texas, which have left residents curious about its origin.

At least one man claimed to have seen a mysterious light in the sky that later land on the area and take off on Tuesday night, resident of Sunland Park Antontio Padilla who discovered the formation of rings the day after, told the newspaper.

The largest circle is about 35-feet wide contains three other circles made by an 8-inch deep trenches in sand bed in the middle of the river bed between Artcraft and Borderland roads.

The close-ups shows that the rings look indeed carved with a more or less sharp edge to the inside and a build up ridge on the outer perimeters of each circle. Furthermore the püictures give the impression that the ridges gently sweep down outwards like a little dune. The structures look kind of smooth as if already erosion by wind or water took place.

Mr. Padilla described that he did not find any footprints leading to or from the circles when he had a first closer look at the site.

Weitere Informationen folgen in Kürze...
